Castle is premiering. This is a show I did not know existed until last Thursday, but will be watching (unless it sucks like Dollhouse sucks, but I doubt it).

All of the reviews that I've seen for Castle (no s) have been really positive. It looks like a really good vehicle for Nathan Fillion. Thank goodness!

Oh, that is a fun show.

And it's so nice to know I'm not the only one who gave up on the Dollhouse two episodes in. It just does not beat out Bill Moyer's Journal.

I gave Dollhouse up 3 eps in, though the 3rd was slightly better (re: no sexual prostitution).

Castle is already filling my little heart with glee. :D

Only two episodes for me for two reasons. First, as I mentioned above, hated giving up The Journal. Second, I think the whole "hunting a human" bit is overdone. And yeah, the whole prostitution / we're just sexy babes angle wasn't filling my little heart with glee either.

Someone on my flist did a whole post on why not to watch Dollhouse (I think it was miss_porcupine) and I found that every point she made was something I agreed with.

My main problems are summed up in 2 points:
-the dubious consensual prostitution that encompasses the entire premise of the show
-the humiliation aspect, ie. how everyone but Echo is 'in on the joke'

They're 2 of my biggest turn-offs, in any kind of storytelling, and I was changing the channel or muting the sound more than I was watching the show. Instead, I'll watch Flashpoint and support Canadian made shows. :)

I try to limit my tv watching. Until you pointed out Castle, I had it down to sometimes watching Criminal Minds on Wednesday and watching The Journal, Numb3rs, and sometimes Charlie Rose on Friday. Looks like I have a new Monday show though.

Yes. As much as I've tried to prevent it, LJ slang has worked itself into my online vocabulary.

My tv watching has dropped considerably, especially as I start dropping shows I lose interest in. Also, while I tend to watch a lot of tv shows, I don't watch a lot of tv - if that makes much sense. I'll save up my shows throughout the week, and kill a Saturday playing catch up.
