Just so I don't end up spamming my flist - 3 drabbles all in one post.
All 3 are prompts from my 100fics table, but the first two are also from the [livejournal.com profile] firstline_fic prompts.

General Disclaimer: I don't own any characters from NCIS, I just enjoy playing with them.

Title: Caught
Fandom: NCIS
Characters: Kate, McGee
Rating: PG
Prompt: Their eyes met across the crowded room. (Week 20)& 21-Caught
Words: 191

Summary: McGee should really know better by now.

~!~

Their eyes met across the crowded room. She knew in that instant that this was her soulmate, the one she had been searching for her entire lif-

"What the hell are you reading, McGee?" asked Kate, startling the preoccupied agent.

"Um-ah...no-nothing," he stammered, quickly placing the book in a drawer and closing it with almost too much force.

"Ri-ight," said Kate, drawing the word out in a smug, disbelieving tone.

"It's something my sister left at my place-"

"Which just happened to find it's way to the office?" she asked, crossing her arms and smiling at his squirming form.

"I just-"

"Don't bother, McGee. Nothing you say can explain this away."

He knew she was right. She knew she was right.

"Don't tell Gibbs?" he asked in a resigned voice, knowing this was going to cost him big.

"For a price," she said, her smile widening. "But it's not Gibbs you should be worried about."

"Oh?"

"If Tony ever finds out, he'll hold it over you until your dying day. Maybe even longer."

A deep sense of doom filled him, and McGee knew she was right. Again.

Title: Burning Man
Characters: Kate, DiNozzo
Rating: PG
Prompt: "You set me on fire." (Week 21) & 39-Burn
Words: 263

Summary: Co-workers can be such a pain.

~!~

"You set me on fire!" exclaimed Tony, walking into the bullpen right on Kate's heels.

"I did not, Tony."

"Then what's this?!" he said, holding out his arm for inspection.

"Looks like a piece of dirt."

"It's a burn, Kate. My designer suit has scorch marks."

"It's barely noticeable, DiNozzo," said Kate, placing her weapon and badge in the desk drawer. "Stop being such a baby."

"This is a thousand dollar suit, Kate, that's now ruined beyond repair. I demand compensation!" Tony said, sitting down at his computer like a sulky three-year old.

"Yeah, like NCIS is gonna comp that, Tony."

"It happened on the job, in the course of an investigation, and entirely the fault of a second NCIS agent."

"Like that's going to matter. Besides, half the people in this building would kill to be able to say they set you on fire, Tony."

"So you admit it!" he said, jumping up from his seat and pointing accusingly at her.

"Tony," she said reprovingly, moving from behind her desk to lean over his in a threatening manner. "If I wanted to set you on fire, I'd douse you with gasoline and sell tickets."

Tony just narrowed his eyes at her.

"I'd buy one," said Gibbs, striding into the bullpen with a coffee in one hand, barely glancing at the pair of agents.

"Boss, you wouldn't!" said Tony in a betrayed tone.

"I'm hurt, Gibbs," he added after a hard look from Gibbs.

"Not as much as you will be if you didn't find any evidence at Sgt Walker's cabin."

"Ahh..."

Title: Addict
Characters: DiNozzo, Gibbs
Rating: G
Prompt: 30 - Grovel
Words: 169
A/N: Written in a Second Cup in Halifax - yes, that's how old this is.

Summary: Tony should really know better by now.

~!~

Tony stayed perfectly still, not even twitching an eye, hoping that the sharp gaze would finally leave off.

The hair on the back of his neck had given up the ghost minutes ago, laying quiescent, even while goosebumps prickled all along his skin. He could feel his skin alternating between flushed and pale, and tried to stop his ears from twitching in a sign of fear. He wasn't a rabbit and his life wasn't in danger.

He was pretty sure, anyway.

Focusing his attention back to the recording equipment in front of him, he tried to concentrate on the presence of the subject they were surveilling. The burning gaze intensified, and Tony started to feel petulant at the attention.

"C'mon, Boss. I said I was sorry!" Knowing it was a mistake the instant the words were said.

It wasn't like there was anything he could do - they were on a stakeout.

And really, it wasn't like he had planned to drink the last of the coffee!

Oh, poor, poor Tony... Loved all three of them. McGee reading a romance novel was awesome. And the way Tony wasn't sure if he was a rabbit in danger was sweet.

Tony just can't seem to get a break.

Thanks. I've been holding on to the last one for almost 2 months, so I figured I should actually post it somewhere.
