Why I LOVE Stargate: Atlantis....

I'd be more than happy to beta it, and help along if you get stuck, but I'm being crushed under the weight of ficathons and my own plot bunnies. (Plus, the weather here is turning awesome, and I plan to go out and photograph the city as much as possible.)

What I've found works for me when I'm writing and don't have a clear idea, is to just write it down even if you know it sounds like crap as you type/write. Get the major bits down, and then leave it for a few days - long enough for it to clear from your mind. Then go back to it, and edit as you read. You'll end up fixing mistakes and adding new bits, and the parts the sound 'off', you should have a better idea of how you want it to sound.

(This is why I usually don't re-read anything I've written, once it's posted - unless I need to refresh my memory for a sequel. I always end up finding mistakes or wanting to re-write parts.)

I also know people who write out of order. They write the scenes they have clearly in their minds, and then string it all together at the end, filling in the blanks.

Also - Vista? You're braver than me. My next computer (hopefully soon) will have Vista wiped off within an hour of plugging it in.
