Here's my contribution for the day - some of the best Doctor Who stories I've come across. There are a lot - A LOT - more, but I managed to wittle them down to three.

Summary: Jack should really be more careful about who --and what-- he crawls into bed with.
Pimp: Remember that line in the very first scene of the first Torchwood episode where Jack says 'At least I won't get pregnant - never doing that again. Well, this is that story. Never fear, it's not *really* an mpreg. It's none of those 'fifty first century men have uterus' stories, so don't worry. This should be canon for Jack - it would explain so much. It features Nine and Rose, and Jack in a situation that is just. Not. Right. It's also the funniest story I have ever read. The characters are beautifully written and the description of everything is short and sweet but full of imagery. I will warn you about one thing - if you can't handle a few lines of 'ick', then don't read this. If you can, you won't regret it.
Excerpt:
Jack lifted one eyebrow. "I'm what?"
"Pregnant." The Doctor repeated.
"Doctor, in case you hadn't noticed from your cloister, I am a guy. Guys don't get pregnant."
"Would you prefer 'infected with a parasitic alien embryo'?" The Doctor asked with a smile.

Summary: Rose's new universe is trying to fit her in. The process isn't easy, but once in a while, just once in a while, it gives something back for all it takes away.
Pimp: Rose's new universe is trying to fit her in, and has no room for a universe hopping, time traveling girl who doesn't belong. So, Rose is made 'to belong', which means that time traveling Rose is replaced with millionaire Pete Tyler's daughter Rose, who's been kept away from the media her entire life. And Rose's memories are made to match. Then she meets a Dr John Smith who she is strangely attracted to, though she can't figure out why. And she can't quite figure out why she thinks he should be wearing a black leather jacket.
Then the dreams start, starring a younger, geekier brown haired man in a pin-stripped suit. She also has a dog she named Captain Jack. :)
Really, go read this one. She's one of my favourite authors who has a wonderful knack for writing Nine like he should be.
Excerpt:
“It’s the hospital,” he said. “I’m sorry, Rose; I have to take this.” She smiled at him, letting him know it was all right with her. He lifted the phone to his ear. “Smith. What’s happening?” He frowned a little. “Where’s Weber? Shouldn’t he be on it?” Whatever the other person said drew an impatient sigh. “As a matter of fact, I’m having coffee and a chat with a lovely blonde half my age. No, really, I am. So tell Weber he owes me. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”
“Trouble?” asked Rose, amused at his choice of words.
He smiled regretfully at her. “My colleague seems to have picked a very inconvenient time to come down with the flu. One of his patients just spiked a fever, and the attending physician suspects post-operative complications.”
“So you have to go riding to the rescue,” said Rose.
“That’s me. A hero.”

Summary: Not really provided by the author.
Pimp: This is a Doctor/Master story. Or should I say *epic*. It takes place after The Last of the Time Lords, where Jack brought the Master back from death because the Doctor asked him to. This is their story from that point on. There are dozens of these stories out there, but this one is one of the best. The author writes the Master as he is, with all the insanity and manic traits, and the Doctor as *he* is, with all the flaws and strength and clutching desperation. This is a long - long - series of parts, ten plus a prologue and epilogue. It shows the evolution of their relationship from enemies to fighting lovers to being a couple - sort of. It's also old-Who compliant, so all those fans of classic-Who can get their fix with references to early episodes and adventures, with cameos by Ainsley!Master and the Fifth Doctor (eventually), and Romana comes in halfway through to throw a wrench in things. Jack's immortality is dealt with, and they deal with all the issues involving Gallifrey, including the Master's drums.
I will warn you, this isn't one of those 'everything is wonderful' fics. This series has a multitude of angst, blood, sex and the Master being snarky and mean. The Master remains the Master throughout; he's not nice and loving, caring and considerate, if anything, he gets worse as the story progresses, but there comes a point where his actions become brutal *because* he's trying to protect the Doctor in the only way he knows how. There is a slow changing in the characters that I love, and you can see the bond forming between these two men that were more than friends long before they were enemies. Again, the characters are wonderfully written, and despite everything you read, you can't help but want a happy ending for these two.
Also, I'm a sucker for telepathic bonds. :)
Excerpt:
...But, but... it's really you? Really really?"
"Yes, Doctor, it's me." Romana frowns slightly and asks the Master, "Has he had a recent blow to the head?"
The Master sniggers. "No, it's this latest regeneration of his." He puts his hand up to the side of his mouth and stage whispers to Romana, "I think it's a bit faulty. Keeps leaking around the eyes too."
The Doctor's glare meets the Master's smirk at fifty paces, and the smirk wins the draw. It cheats, of course.
