Election Day!!

Alright! All you Canadians out there - it's time to strap on some ID and go to the polls. Today is election day, and it's time you did your civic duty (instead of whining all the time).

Six weeks of annoying politicians doing even less than they normally do has come to a head.

Go. Vote. Be heard!

(Just don't go Green - s'all I'm saying.)

Disclaimer: This is the closest you'll get to a political post on my LJ, because politically speaking, Canadians are usually not that exciting - though we do come up with our share of d'oh moments. However, if Harper gets his majority government (pleasepleasepleaseohgodNO), then there may be some ranting in the near future. Keep your fingers crossed.

Only six weeks of campaigning!! Try two years worth, with escalation every month. I'm not in a state that's considered up for grabs and it's still a giant pain. Consider yourself lucky.

Oh, you have no idea how happy I am that our elections are limited to only 6 weeks of campaigning - it's the law. 6 weeks from the call for an election to election day.

It does make for a slightly more unstable government, but it also allows us to oust reigning parties that have swindled the tax payers money into their own pockets (as happened with the last election).

I do so wish we would switch to that format but there is too much money and influence to change. Good luck with your elections.

Well, unless there's some serious election fraud that has yet to turn up, it's a Conservative minority government. ie. right wing with some power, but still needs to play nice with the other parties

*sigh*
